Hi,
It feels very strange to start our semester and then have one week off already! However, I'm pretty happy with what we have done so far in class! I asked you to spend some time to think about what kind of job you'd like to have in the future! I know this is a difficult step but it will help make it easier for you to write a resume later. Also, if will help you focus on what jobs to apply for which (believe me) will save you a lot of time and energy!
I think the job profile websites we talked about in class will help you understand what kind of job matches you. We talked about the kinds of benefits companies might offer which should also help you in your job search.
During the mock (pretend) interviews in class, I wrote down some notes about how each of you can improve your 'image' during an interview. In our next class, we will also talk about other things you can do to get you ready for a job interview and start preparing answers for the most common questions employers ask.
Before I finish today, I'd like to leave you with a little message for your Chusok holiday!

Week 2
Hi!
It was nice to meet all of you today and I'm really looking forward to teaching Employment English this semester. I realize finding a job in Korea is very difficult these days so I will do my best to help each of you prepare for not only an English interview but also show you how to write a coherent English resume (+ cover letter) and how to properly fill out job application forms.
Hopefully, by the end of the semester you are more confident about your skills and will be able to enter the work world with your head up high!
In this blog, I will tell you how I feel about your class. I will also give you directions about how to use my website and other multimedia I'm going to use. Today, I would like to post my first video showing you how to sign up for my website (http://tylereslclass.info/). I know many of you are good at using computers, so if some of your classmates need help, please help them.
My second video shows you how to upload a picture and introduce yourself on my website.
If you have any problems, please come to my office for assistance.
Also, I will be attaching a few surveys in my blog to see how my students feel about English! Please answer the survey about "Confidence" below!:
