Week 14

This will be my last post to my Employment English class! This semester has really flown by and we just have one more week left! I think you guys learned a lot this semester about how to prepare for (and do well in) an job interview and how to write a professional resume.

The other day, I looked at your final resumes and I thought most of you did a good job. I know for some students your resumes are very short! When I was a university student I also didn't have much work experience to put on my resume! Believe me, over time, your resume will get better as you are able to have more life experiences. An idea for this winter is to spend a little time either volunteering at a company, doing some training, or taking a language course, all of which you can use to make your resume better!

Your final project was to find a real job advertisement and write a targeted resume to the company. I think this was good practice for you and will give you the confidence you need to apply for jobs after you graduate.

Don't forget, if you need any help in the future, please drop by my office or just give me a call!

I enjoyed teaching you!
